When are Key Club meetings?
We meet every other Tuesday after school. Other service opportunities and events are on weekends at varying times and can be found on our website's calendar. Every event is not mandatory; the amount you participate is up to you. Obviously, we'd love to serve with you whenever you can!
What does a typical Key Club meeting look like?
At around 3 pm, an officer will call the meeting into order. The meeting will sometimes open with an icebreaker. Then, the President and other officers will present a brief Powerpoint with a reflection of past service projects and upcoming volunteer opportunities. As a club, we will then perform an act of service: making PB&J sandwiches for a homeless shelter, creating cards for veterans or other groups, upcycling dog toys out of old t-shirts (for vet or local animal shelter), DIY-ing non-slip socks for children in the hospital, and more!
How will my service hours be tracked?
You are in charge of your hours, so please bring a service hour sheet to each meeting and service project you attend.
Do I get service hours at every meeting?
You will get service hours for every meeting that we participate in some sort of service project.
I have a project/cause I am passionate about. Can I suggest service directed toward that cause?
Of course! This club is your club, and we are always looking for more service opportunities to become involved with. Please feel free to contact us about the project/service opportunity.
How do I contact the officers?
The best way to get into contact with us is through the Remind groups, which can be found on the Contact Information page! Your Class Director will directly answer any questions you have and/or pass the message on to the other officers.
My friend wants to join Key Club, but membership recruitment has already ended. What should I do?
While your friend cannot be an official Key Club member this year, you can invite your friend to many of the service events outside of school! While some events are exclusive to Key Clubbers, many are open to the general public. Please just let us know if you are bringing a non-Key-Club member along to a service project. We hope your friend can join us next year! :)
