"Key" Events
Because of the enormity of this organization, there are a few major events imperative to fostering a Key Club family.
Key Club Kickoff Conference (KCKC)KCKC is a way for new members to get a taste of what Key Club has to offer during the upcoming school year. Within this event, there are numerous opportunities for members to learn about leadership and communication skills, meet Key Clubbers from other schools in Broward County, and receive a breakdown of the fundamentals and structure of the organization. This event is usually four hours, and requires a business-casual attire. Attending KCKC provides you with a wholesome experience and is essential for being in the club.
|
Spring Zone Rally (SZR)Similar to KCKC, Spring Zone Rally also offers a variety of workshops to attend that can benefit members and officers. While the workshops are informational, a huge part of this event is the ability to vote for next year's Lieutenant Governor, and some campaigning for District or even International positions begins. Some of these candidates will be voted on at DCON.
Divisional Council Meeting (DCM)There are many layers of the organization of Key Club, one of which being Division. West Broward's division is Division 24B. Each month we have a meeting, usually accompanied by a service project, that unites the clubs in our division, which is made of many schools you are probably familiar with: American Heritage, Archbishop McCarthy, Cooper City, Cypress Bay, Everglades, Flanagan, Miramar, Pines Charter, and Somerset Academy!

District Education and Leadership Conference (DCON)
The Key Club District Leadership Convention (DCON) is a weekend-long trip usually held in April or May. On this enjoyable trip, you get the chance to meet high school students and club advisors from other schools who enjoy community service—and everything else Key Club related. They also offer a wide variety of workshops for members and officers alike to build leadership skills. Not only that, but DCON presents a number of opportunities for scholarships and awards. After a year of service within your club, division, and district, DCON is the perfect close to a great year of service.
